Finding a Real Estate Agent

Finding a real estate agent can be a difficult task. Buying or selling a home is highly personal -- It can be draining both emotionally and financially.  Moving can be stressful and disruptive to individuals and families.  You will need to choose your agent carefully, because your agent makes the real estate experience work for you.

The agent-client relationship is both a partnership and a learning experience. Our job is to educate you to the market and the process; yours is to inform us of what you need and want. So, how do you find the right agent? 

• Ask around. Friends and neighbors will gladly share their experiences.  Look for “repeaters” – A great sign of satisfaction is a friend who has used the same agent over and over.
• Another favorable indicator is an agent who stays in touch with past clients – whether they are currently in the market or not.  Visiting open houses is a good way to see an agent in action. 
• Of course, everyone searches online these days, and you can always read the agent’s bio on his company website. 
• But check the “Find a Realtor” webpage of the Houston Association of Realtors as well.  All properly-licensed Realtors will have a personal webpage at HAR.  You can learn much by how carefully those websites are crafted.
