Julie Webber started a career as a Realtor conducting Sunday open houses in hopes of making a sale or meeting potential buyers to find them a home. And as fate would have it, her first sale was to a couple touring her open house.
Doing her job, Webber was gracious, knowledgeable about the home on tour and eager to assist them. The couple told her what they wanted in a home, and Webber began to work with them in their search for the perfect place to live, which turned out to be in a River Oaks house in the $1.6 million range.
That sale was quite a boost to her morale as a new Realtor in 2010 and encouraged Webber to work in developing a top producing practice in the sale of residential real estate. Since that first sale she’s listed and sold homes in West University, Tanglewood, Memorial and neighborhoods from inside Loop 610 to Beltway 8.
Webber is a leading Realtor working in association with Roger Martin Properties, in the city of West University close to her home in "West U." She enjoys working at the boutique full-service real estate company and said there is a great chemistry between all who work at Roger Martin Properties.
"I have a great respect for Roger (Martin) and his wife Ann, who are both wonderful people to work with in their company. And when you work for people that are good, it makes you want to work harder and do better. Working at Roger Martin Properties helps you feel valued and respected," said Webber, who holds a degree in Communications and writes a blog called Clever Confidante with emphasis on interior design.
"I’ve always been interested in houses and interior design. I was a stay-at-home mom, and one of the reasons I decided to become a realtor was it offered me the opportunity to attend activities at my sons’ schools, and it was a profession that really complimented my skills and personality."
Webber has lived in Houston since 1981 and has met many people through the years and participated in numerous activities that have been very beneficial in building her clientele.
Webber said, "Working in real estate can be challenging at times, and it can be very rewarding. Selling and buying homes is emotional for some people and I like to feel I am helping by going to bat for people. And when the transaction is finalized, it is so rewarding when I get good results and feel happy about how smooth everything went from start to finish."
"I would not enjoy a high pressure sales job where it is all about numbers. But, I do enjoy real estate because it is all about relationships, and I enjoy being an advocate for people," said Webber, who was certified by the Houston Association of Realtors as a top production Realtor for the third quarter of 2012.
