Search City of Bellaire Homes for Sale
The City of Bellaire (like its sister city West University Place) is surrounded by the much-larger City of Houston. It is hard to believe that they were once located in deep, outer suburbia! A streetcar line, the so-called "Toonerville Trolley", ran between downtown and these residential neighborhoods. The last remaining street car is located in Bellaire's Paseo Park, in the esplanade of Bellaire Boulevard.

Life in Bellaire
The City of Bellaire was established in 1908, and prides itself on its tightly-knit, family-oriented community of 6,000 homes. Spanning both sides of Loop 610, Bellaire is an independent municipality, served by its own mayor, city council, police and fire departments. Today, the City of Bellaire is experiencing phenomenal growth and change. Like many close-in neighborhoods, new homes are replacing some of the older structures. But the cozy feel of the neighborhood remains intact.
